The Route des Grands Crus

Vigneron

The route of the great wines of Burgundy, which is sometimes called "the Champs-Elysées of Burgundy" is a magnificent journey of sixty kilometers oriented from north to south in the region of Gold Coast. You past vineyards of the best wines of the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune.

The starting point is the regional capital of Burgundy Dijon. Once you are out of the walls, you can see the hills that are the hallmark of the Burgundy vineyard: you're hired on the Côte de Nuits.

The first step is Marsannay self-proclaimed "host city, action and taste." It is a green village in ancient architectural heritage whose vineyards facing the rising sun offers red wines, rosés and whites.

Continuing your journey, you will encounter Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny, then the most famous vineyards of Nuits-Saint-Georges, where the vine grows from the 1st century AD. Do not miss to admire the castle of Clos de Vougeot (XII century), which is 50 years the headquarters of the Brotherhood of Tastevin who gives himself to promote the wines of Burgundy.

At this point, if you continue your drive south and you exceed Corgoloin, you enter the second part of the route of the great wines: Côte de Beaune. Down a little in the direction of Chalon-sur-Saone, you can walk among the vineyards of Pommard, Volnay and Meursault. These fine wines will give you the strength to continue your journey to completion: Santenay. After this town, the road continues but it changes its name to that of wines.
