Passion de France

The King of Wines

Coq et château

This is the seventeenth century that Champagne was developed by monks. Since then, it has become the most prestigious wine in the world. It is protected by its name, which is one of the oldest in France. The vineyards cover 35,000 hectares, but only 28,700 are actually planted. It is composed of four distinct areas: the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne, the Côte des Blancs and the Côte des Bar.
The Champagne tourist route most visited focuses on the Côte des Bar and connects Bar-sur-Aube in Bar-sur-Seine in the department of Aube. It crosses a couple of villages over a length of 220 km. Label the "Home Point" indicates 26 winemakers distinguished by a jury of professionals from the tourism and viticulture.
